Graduate Certificate The Department of Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling in partnership with the Department of Mechanical Engineering is pleased to announce the the Rehabilitation Technology Certificate (CiRT) program at USF. This multidisciplinary certificate program is projected to begin Spring semester of 2006. Course location/delivery: This certificate is offered on the Tampa campus. Brief Description: Upon completion of the Certificate in Rehabilitation Technology (CiRT), graduates will have a working knowledge of the field of rehabilitation technology. Students will develop an understanding of current and emerging rehabilitation technology, medical aspects of disability, and career and lifestyle assessment. CiRT is designed to provide students with theoretical and practical methodologies through demonstrations, videos, lectures, class discussions, and supervised clinical experiences. Credit towards graduate degree: Up to 12 hours of certificate course credits may be applied to a graduate degree with departmental approval. Transfer credit: Up to six (6) hours of previous graduate-level course work earned from an accredited program may be recognized for credit and will be evaluated on an individual basis by the Graduate Certificate Program Coordinator. Standardized tests: No specific tests are required for this certificate. Admission Requirements: To be eligible for admission, an applicant must hold an earned bachelor's degree in engineering, nursing, social work, counseling, psychology, education, or allied health profession from an accredited institution. Registration process: First, consult with the certificate program advisor and obtain an electronic course permit if necessary. Then go to Oasis, http://usfonline.admin.usf.edu, USF's on-line registration system. Follow directions given on-line. Tuition and fees: Fees parallel that of standard graduate-level courses. Please visit the Tuition Cost webpage at http://usfweb.usf.edu/controller/cashaccounting/tuition. Financial aid: Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for financial aid.
